The Editorian Editing for the serious fiction writer

We invite you to try our self-editing tips and to check out our suggested reading list.

Familiarizing yourself with different writing techniques is helpful not just for new writers, but for accomplished writers as well.

Honing your craft is essential. Our recommended reading list includes many books from the Writer’s Digest Elements of Fiction Writing series. Others are gems we have discovered over years of writing, speaking, teaching and attending conferences where professionals share information.

We highly recommend you study relevant books to enhance your writing technique and voice before you pay for professional help. Find a local writers group that offers critiquing and free or low-cost seminars. Attend workshops and conferences, or take a grammar refresher course at your local community college. Learn the art, craft and business of writing.

Knowledge is power

After you self-edit your novel, you may discover that you need professional assistance. We are here to help.

You may be so close to the book of your heart that you can no longer be objective. Perhaps you feel that your characters’ dialogue lacks a certain sparkle, or that your sentence structure does not enhance the pacing you are looking for. Perhaps grammar and punctuation make you shudder, or you realize you have plot holes but don’t know how to fill them.

Our staff includes professional editors, published authors and writing instructors who are experienced in helping other writers navigate the intricacies of polishing a manuscript.

We offer proofreading, copy and content editing services for a reasonable fee.

Please note that we are not ghost writers, and we do not rewrite manuscripts.
